Fairly consistent Northumberland beachbreak, found in the lee of the spectacular Dunstanburgh Castle. Best in a NE with a SW/W offshore, but bit of a swell magnet. Fairly uncrowded in the water thanks to busy, limited, parking and faffy access. All tides, but can get shorebreaky to high. Rocks and rips.

  • Main Beach: A frame sandy bottom peaks up and down the beach that can get hollow under a punchy NE swell, and can be found tide round.
  • The Point: somewhat fickly rocky right reef point off the southern headland. Experts only.

Access, parking & facilities: paid/free parking at/opposite nearby golf course (be discrete!), not suitable for larger vans and a walk down.
