Crantock is a somewhat sheltered beachbreak that tends to be a fair bit smaller than Fistral to its north.

Peaks:

• Decent, chill, peaks around the rivermouth sandbars that need a bit of swell size to work, particularly mid to mid high. Parking behind dunes.
• Faster, sometimes hollow right off north headland rocks. Parking at Pentire Head.
• Fickle left in the south corner on huge swells. Parking at Bowgie Inn.\

Works most tides except full high, and best on a SE wind. Big tidal range, so can be quite a trek when tide is lower. Rocky, and water quality can be dubious, particularly after rain.
