Towan is a very sheltered beachbreak in the heart of Newquary that's only really worth it in big swells and SW storms (so autumn/winter generally).

Range of peaks to pick from, but the lefts off the harbour wall tend to hold the best shape. Some wind shelter, particularly as tide comes up. If too small check out spots moving out from behind the shelter of the headland. Hugely crowded in summer, and parking can be a nightmare.
