Lowestoft is a rarely breaking beachbreak that can offer shelter in a big northerly storms, or during rare E/SE swells. Generally pretty averagem but on its day it can get hollow and punchy.

Works around tide, best low to mid, but on smaller swells can lose power to offshore sandbank. Watch out for pier, which also tends to offer best sandbanks, groynes, shorebreak at high, rips at all tides, dubious water quality thanks to river mouth, and thieves. Parking and services in town.
