Langland is one of Wales' most popular, and busiest, spots, and is home to a range of breaks with something for all tides. Needs a decent size swell to get going; fickle over summer.

Breaks (high to low tide)

• The Reef
• Middle of the Bay
• The Sandbar
• Shitpipe
  and of course, the fabled Crab Island, a fast, hollow, heavily localised right off the low tide island, if you're good enough (experts only) and lucky enough to catch it working.

Rocks, reef, rips (watch out for the one in the middle of the bay, and on the outer peaks, in particular), crowded, particularly in summer, and some localism. Intermediate+

Parking behind beach, but limited amounts so get there early, cafes, pubs, surf shops and schools.
