Woolacombe is a popular, mellow, beach break, great for beginners and longboarders, that works tide round. At high tide, a right point breaks off the north headland rocks. Huge expanse, can hold a crowd, and tends to be a little quieter than Putsborough and Croyde to the south. At low, if crowded, or if there's a N wind, the bay of Combesgate to the north can be worth checking, for fast, quality peaks. Paid parking and lots of facilities in Woolacombe itself.
