Eddies (King Edwards Bay) is a sheltered cove just south of [Longsands]:(spot:longsands) under the ruins of the priory. Low to mid tide only, access cut off at high (though mid-high shorebreak can be one of the few options going when swell small).
Peaks:
- Main Beach: shifting A-frames over sand and rock infront of the legendary Riley's Fish Shack.
- Points: left and right reef pointbreaks either side.
Tide: All, mid to high ideal.
Swell: N/NE/E, NE ideal.
Wind: <span style="color: green;”>SW ideal. Sheltered from strong S/SW/W, particularly towards high.
Hazards: rips, rocks, reef, access. Can get pretty polluted, check SSRS app.
Parking/access/facilities: Roadside parking on the clifftop and steep access path down. Lots of cafes, toilets, pubs, etc around.
Worth exploring area, particularly for advanced surfers - Pebblies and the legendary heavy, barrelling left that is Black Middens, for the bold, to be searched out.
