Freshwater East (Fresh East) is a sheltered beackbreak that only really wakes up in big winter storms, when it can produce fast, heavy, barreling waves over shallow sandbars. Some shelter from northerlies and southerlies, near the respective headlands. Fine for beginners when small, but not when it wakes up. Crowded when on. Check SSRS as water quality can be dubious, particularly after rains.
