Freshwater West (Fresh West) is the definitive Pembrokeshire spot and the most consistent break in Wales. Site of the Welsh Nationals. A huge expanse of beachbreak peaks with something working around tides. Standard beachbreak A-frames to the north, fast, hollow, low tide sandbars mid way, and reef/beach options to the South.

Access is restricted to the south end - MOD firing range, so don't jump the fence! Check the calendar for posted times, or ring the hotline. If no firing, paddle access possible.

Rocks, very rippy, plus crossshores, particularly on the drop, huge tidal range, quicksand, weaverfish, all sorts. Intermediate+

Car parking behind north beach - 3 car parks (toilets in the southern-most) and roadside. Lots of camping in the area.
