Long stretch of beachbreak A-frame peaks anchored by groynes. Over winter of the most consistent spots on the South Coast, and popular with both locals and London surfers. Works tide round, but generally easier lower, as it backs off the groynes. Higher, on the push, does tend to produce slightly bigger waves however. High tide can be a shorebreak onto shingle. Can handle some onshore, if you can handle the paddle out. Friendly local crowd. If too big, neighbouring West Wittering can provide some shelter. Too small, check out Bracklesham to the east.
