St Andrews East Sands is a fickle beachbreak that only tends to work when big swell wraps in. Best mid to high, but works all except low. Tends to close out when on the pull, when it's best to check out neighbouring West Sands. Paddle out by harbour wall, rippy, rocky. Dubious water quality, particularly after rain.
