Works on all tides barring high when it hits sea wall, but best at low to mid. Limited wind shelter, groynes mid to high tide, brutal longshore and rippy when big, often polluted and can be crowded. Easy access and parking. Cafes and facilities in town. During summer lulls, infrequent swells that've already passed through North Yorkshire spots can be chased down here.
