Strandhill is a popular, quality, beachbreak with A-frames up and down over shifty sandbars, that can get hollow on its day. Work all tides, though high tide often hits the sea wall, causing backwash and tricky access. Head to the north end if more westerly swell, and south end if south westerly winds.

The Bar to the south, offers some rippy rivermouth action, and for the adventerous, Bluerock to the north, is long right boulder point break.
