Long stretch of beachbreak sandbars that can get fast and hollow on their day. Variety of A-frame peaks breaking around tides. North to south:

  • Don Rights - rivermouth to N end
*.Tunnels - near underpass - often bigger and more hollow on swells with E in, around mid-high
  • Lifeguards - high tide peak over old ship's boiler
  • Fittie (Footdee) - towards harbour wall, best around low to mid.

For the skilled and adventerous, keep an eye out for the so-fickle-it's-mythical Aberdeen Harbour break - a barrelling right off the south breakwater in grotty harbour water, low to mid.

Watch out for seawall, backwash and groynes towards high tide. Rips, crossshores, rocks, shipwrecks, dodgy water.
Parking on esplanade.
